THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING YEAR!!!

Hey 8C Graduates!!!

I would like to first thank everyone for all of the kind words and tokens of appreciation that were given to me on the last few days of school!  It means a lot to me and I am very grateful and appreciative.  I can't believe that things have come to an end already... I guess the saying is right.. "All good things come to an end."  This year was truly amazing and I am so glad that I made the choice to teach Grade 8.. One of the best decisions in my career!  You have all matured and grown into young adolescents... I am proud of each and every one of you for all of your hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes.  We worked as a team in 8C and despite a few hiccups along the way... we really gelled into a strong family unit.  

Well.. now it's time for all of you to leave the "Hollycrest nest" and move on to the next part of your journey.  The next four years can be amazing and very memorable... or they can be the opposite of that.  It all depends on the decisions you make.  Remember that it is okay to make mistakes just as long as you learn from them and don't repeat the same mistake twice.  There is so many good things for all of you to experience in high school.. stick to the good things and don't be afraid to try new things and go out of your comfort zone once in a while.

Thank you for an amazing year 8C!!!  You have truly made this year the most memorable year of my career!  I will miss you greatly, but I know that you will come back and visit and tell me how things are going... My door is always open to all of you.. if you just need to chat... or hang out.. or ask for help.. you know where to find me!  Good luck and all the best to all of you!!!

AU REVOIR QUEBEC

Bonjour mon amis!!!

I hope everyone had an awesome time in Quebec!!!  What a great way to end.. what was... an amazing school year!!!  It was so great to see everyone having a great time and enjoying themselves on the trip!  I'm sure that all of you will remember this experience for many years to come......

Now it's time for all of us to graduate.... I know.. time has passed too quickly and we are already at the end.  I am very excited to watch all of you graduate and get ready for the next chapter of your lives... but I am also very sad to see all of you go....  

On Monday, we will be having our dress rehearsal in preparation for Tuesday's graduation.  GIRLS, please bring your high heels that you will be wearing on Tues.

Well..... I won't be saying this many more times... but.... Have a great weekend 8C!!!  Can't wait to see our full class on Monday!

  

BON VOYAGE . . . .

Just practicing my French before we arrive in Quebec City on Monday!!!  I hope everyone is excited for an awesome trip and our last experience together as a class before graduation!!! This is such a great way to end what was an amazing year together! 

Don't forget to look over the itinerary that was given to you and pack accordingly for the trip... You NEED to be here by 6:30 ish on Monday morning as the bus leaves at 7:00 am.

LAST FULL WEEK TOGETHER

Well... this week is going to be the last full week that we are in class together!!!  After this week we will be on the GRAD TRIP to QUEBEC and then we will be in graduation just a few days after that.  It's still very hard to believe that the school year.. and more importantly... your 3 years at Hollycrest have gone by in a flash!  We have a lot to do this week... so let's make it an awesome week!!!

THAT TIME OF YEAR!!!

Well... it's hard to believe but next week is officially the last week that we will be in class together at Hollycrest!!!  The next two weeks will be busy ones, and then we are off to Quebec City!!!  Then it's graduation!!!  I am excited for both but also saddened at the same time... we've had such a great year together... too bad it has to end.. with what feels like too soon.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

FRIDAY, JUNE 7th -->  PA DAY (no school)

MONDAY, JUNE 10th -->  BOWLING TRIP (pm)

FRIDAY, JUNE 14th -->  SPORTS DAY (all day)

Next week we will try to fit in a couple of "8C" days where we can enjoy ourselves as a class and reflect back on an amazing school year and 3 years at Hollycrest!!!

ALREADY JUNE!!!

Well... it's hard to believe but the month of June is upon us already!  I knew the year would go by quickly, but I guess not this quickly.  We have a few things to complete before we go off to Quebec... so hang in there and keep working hard like you have throughout the school year!

Before you know it I will be handing you your diplomas and.... well... let's enjoy the last month we have together!

FAREWELL ZAHIDA!!!

On behalf of 8C and myself, I would like to thank you Zahida for everything you have contributed to our class, the school, and the community!  You are the perfect example of what it means to make a difference to others.  I hope that you enjoyed the presentation today and I hope you realized just how important you are and have been to our class!!!  This afternoon, it was very clear that you have rubbed off of many students in our class as well as myself.  We don't always get recognized for our good deeds and for the contributions that we make in life... but I hope today you felt appreciated and recognized by our class!!!

8C, I also want to thank all of you for helping make today possible for Zahida's final day.... Today I saw compassion, caring, kindness, and appreciation from all of you!  I know I have said it before, but today you made me realize how lucky and fortunate I am to be your homeroom teacher.  I have seen so much growth and maturity in so many of you and that was clearly evident today!!!

Zahida, you will be greatly missed and I thank you for being such a compassionate and incredible young lady!!!  All the best to you and have a safe flight to Afghanistan.

Hey 8Cers!!!

It was so great to see everyone having a great time today running the Amazing Math Race!!!  You all finished the race faster than I anticipated... and it was great to see all of the groups working together and demonstrating sportsmanship!!!  And you are all lucky that I let you pop those balloons near me!!!  

I think I was almost over my phobia... except for when Filip came to the station and popped 2 balloons right in my face!!!  Sadly, I still don't like balloons!!! hehe...

I am very happy with the way things turned out today and I am very happy that you all had an AMAZING time!!! CONGRATULATIONS to all teams!!!

Tomorrow is the big day!!!  (I feel like I have said that before this year!)  Tomorrow we will be having the NEW Amazing Math Race in the afternoon!!!  A lot of preparation went into tomorrow, so I hope that everyone has a great time and enjoys themselves...

Remember to bring the following:

1)  Tape measures (each group will need one)
2)  Team coloured shirt
3)  Water bottle
4)  Running shoes
5)  Excitement and positive team spirit!!!

We will start the race just after DEAR time tomorrow... Remember to read all of the clues carefully and remember to display sportsmanship and respect for others groups and members within your own group!!!

On Tuesday afternoon, you will all be part of this year's AMAZING MATH RACE!!!  I am very excited and I hope that all of you will enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.  The weather looks good for Tuesday and I'm looking forward to watching you carry out all of the challenges on the race!

We have done so much together this year as a class and you have all carried out all of the activities with respect, pride, and excitement!!!  I just can't believe that we are already at the end of the school year and that this will be one of the final big things that we do as a class!!!  Although our time together is coming to an end... let's finish up the school year with a BANG!!! 

We still have a lot to do and a lot to accomplish!!!  Thank you for being such an amazing group of students!!!
