100th GREY CUP

The Grey Cup is is the name of both the championship game of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the trophy awarded to the victorious team. It is contested between the winners of the CFL's East and West Divisional playoffs and is one of Canadian television's largest annual sporting events. The Toronto Argonauts have 15 championships, more than any other team. The defending champions are the BC Lions. 

The 2012 game, to be played in Toronto, will be the 100th Grey Cup.

On Friday, we will be having Director's Cut come in for the whole day... you will produce short movies using your story boards, plastercine characters and backgrounds.  I have to say, the work that you have all put into your stories, especially the backgrounds and characters is AMAZING!!!  I can't wait to see what all of you produce when you create your movies on Friday!

A fresh start . . .

Well, now that interviews are done and everyone has been given constructive feedback, it is time for us to continue the term with a strong commitment to our studies.  Let's have a positive outlook and continue having an incredible year in 8C!!!

I would like to thank all of the parents and students for a very successful round of interviews!  It was great to hear the students discuss their progress and identify areas of strength and improvement.  Remember 8C, that the feedback that was given by myself and parents is to help all of you become better students and more successful in your studies.  I hope that all of you have had time to reflect on things and will make a conscientious effort to push yourself harder to achieve the results that you are all capable of!

I will continue to raise the bar for our class and challenge all of you throughout the remainder of the school year!!!  I expect a lot out of my students, but most importantly, I expect that my students work hard to reach THEIR potential!!! We all learn differently and bring something unique to the table.  I will continue to support and encourage all of you, but you all must take RESPONSIBILITY for your education.

I think that you are an amazing and unique group of students, and I am very lucky and fortunate to have the opportunity to teach all of you this year!!!  Thank you for making this such a rewarding and memorable year so far!!!  It's going fast, so let's enjoy every minute of it!!!

Alright 8C... it's that favourite time of the year....no not the Holiday break or March Break... but INTERVIEW TIME!!!  Please make sure that you arrive 5 or 10 minutes prior to your interview and that you are at the interview as well.... as this interview is for you and to help you become more successful!

Parent Teacher Interviews

Hey everyone!!!

Over the next couple of days, many of you will be having a teacher-parent interview (tomorrow night and Friday morning).  Please make sure that you arrive five or 10 minutes prior to your interview as I am fully booked tomorrow night and Friday morning!!!  As well, you NEED to be at the interview as you will be informing your parents/guardians of how things are going so far in school with respect to your classes, marks, assignments, work habits, etc.

This is an opportunity for all of you to identify your strengths and areas of improvement and to set goals to help you become more successful throughout the school year!!!

Please make sure that your parents receive the Progress Reports that went home today.  You should be sitting down with your parents to discuss your progress and areas of improvement.  After you have examined and discussed your Progress Report, please prepare your goals using the following format:

START -->  3 things that you will start doing and how

STOP  -->  3 things that you will stop doing

CONTINUE -->  3 things that you will continue doing

Please have this prepared for tomorrow (typed or neatly written).

I would like to say how proud and pleased I am of all of you on your presentations today!!!  You were all AMAZING and you should be very proud of your efforts!  All of your hard work really paid off today and it was very exciting and rewarding to watch all of you be in the moment and be in role.

I think many of you have a business career ahead of you..... you all dressed the part  :P   and many of you acted like true professionals -- especially Justin and Nyjah who were simply AMAZING!!!!
