Tonight marks the 6th year where people all across the planet have participated and celebrated Earth Hour. The first Earth Hour was held in Sydney, Australia, in 2007 at 7:30 p.m. About 2.2. million people and 2,100 businesses across the city participated. Lights on Toronto's CN Tower were turned off during Earth Hour's first international campaign in 2008, as thousands of people across the city joined in.
At 8:30 - 9:30 tonight, businesses, individuals, landmarks, and many more will "flick off" their lights in support of our environment. Let's spread awareness that WE need to start conserving electricity and reducing our impact on the planet.
